Some 2023/24 End of Season stats
We have played 23 competitive matches this season.
22 of which were in the league, we won 13 league matches and lost 9, 6 of these we lost by less than one score.
19 of the boys have played in 11 or more games this season creating a pretty consistent spine of the team.
While I am on appearances I could not mention the 383 appearances of the club legend that is Richie Howson.
We have had a further injection of youth boys this year with Morgan Harris, Owen John and Henry Davies all making their senior season debuts at 18.
During those 22 league games we scored 601 points averaging 27 points per game.
We scored 83 tries at an average of 3.8 per game but We conceded 415 points .
Importantly, we secured 10 bonus points for scoring 4 tries or more during the season along with the 6 losing bonus points, these 16 bonus points made all the difference to our league position at the end of the season. Our final league position was 5th.
Rhyd Morris has scored 169 points this season converting 67% of his conversions and 70% of his penalties these additional 2 and 3 points make all the difference. Talking about penalties - our tap and go merchant Adam Dix has scored many important tries this year by his speed of thinking and running
Of the 83 tries we scored this season across 24 different try scorers.
In terms of who scored those tries Max Lucas is our 2nd highest try scorer and the highest try scoring forward with 9 tries but it had to be Adam Dix with his sniping and tap and goes he has scored an incredible 15 tries this season.
Throughout the season we have some principles we have been trying to instil in the club. The culture of the club is at the CORE of what we want to achieve. Nothing embodies the culture we are aiming for more than the way the players, the sponsors, the supporters and the club have supported Jack Forsyth in recent weeks. Culture is very difficult to define, you just know when you have a good one or a bad one, it's a personal view I will let you decide whether we have a good culture or not….We are driving for a winning mentality - where ex Cowbridge players who may have played at a higher level want to return and play for their club and their mates.
